*grin*) Well written with good ideas and suggestions, example: putting desserts into custard cups for portion control.Favorite sections were soups and the veggie dishes.I enjoyed the layout. Not many pictures for those who enjoy that sort of thing.Only reason lost a star was due to the complexity of some recipes and random non-basic ingredients (I'm lazy, young and single, so have to do a lot of halving or freezing of left-overs.

the calories of the pan sauces are like 42 calories to take a plan chicken breast to a wonderful tasty exciting meal.There are so many positives to this book I can't list them all. Now really, make a wonderful flat-bread pizza in ( dough and all)), in less than 30 min and it is on your PLATE. Take those plan Jane frozen chicken breast or salmon fillet and viola. It takes longer to heat you oven than it takes to make these flatbreads.

I am sooooo impressed with this book. But if you want to EAT WELL and LOSE WEIGHT. in less than a few minutes make a wonderful pan sauce of the type that you get in an upscale restaurant and just to put the cherry on top of this Sundae of wonders. Now it is a recipe book to manage your weight but what it is really is a insider secrets to making WONDERFUL EASY BEST TASTING FOOD in MINUTES> I will be using this book for years.

I can't even bake a frozen pizza in that time. you can't do better than this and your friends and family will think your a Genius in the Kitchen It is that good. It is so easy and takes get this 15 seconds to make it in your food processor.

I highly recommend this book. I love that Pam focuses on bettering how you feel about yourself emotionally, as well as physically.The Union Square Bar Nuts recipe has become a favorite in our house, and I'm just waiting on getting a smaller crockpot so I can more often cook the beautiful oatmeal recipe. I've really enjoyed this book. It's about what we're always striving for - better ways to eat, and care for ourselves.

Same exact book, with healthy versions without sugar and flour for snacks and nibbles and desserts, would have been 5 stars. I am a generally healthy eater, and trying to maintain my weight as I've gotten older, and am always looking for healthy recipes that still taste good. liked the foil packet recipes in this new book. I just have had to skip those sections, as I'd be gaining weight if started eating like that. I was surprised to see how much sugar and flour were in so many of her recipes, and how much pasta and pizza, even if slightly healthier versions. In most ways, I really liked this book.

I esp. So was surprised to see how all the snack and nibbles and most of the dessert recipes really weren't anything I'd make, even though this book was touted as one for weight loss and eating healthy. I enjoyed her personal writing style and the recipes are great. I wouldhave liked some delicious healthy snacks and dessert recipes, withoutall the sugar and flour, which I try to stay away from because they are simply unhealthy and to maintain my weight. The rest of the book I would highly recommend. I have her "How to Cook Without a Book" as well,which I have used and enjoyed.

The reason I give this book 4 instead of 5 stars ishow many of the recipes I found weren't really all that healthy.

She teaches basic recipes that you can alter and more importantly her recipes are FULL of flavor so you feel satisfied. I also love that she encourages indulgence (in a low fat way, of course) which is key for me to lose weight. Even my kids, who are beyond picky, have loved her recipes and believe me, that is saying a lot.I LOVE this book so much I felt compelled to write a review--a first for me. I've made several of the recipes---all absolutely fantastic but what I really love about this book is how it's laid out to make menu planning incredibly effortless. I'm using her recipes to cook from for breakfast and lunch 7 days a week and then 4 nights a week I'm cooking her dinner recipes (on the 5th night I'm experimenting with other books and the 6th we go out or have leftovers).
